About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, develop, and support SSIS projects for ETL, file transmission, encryption, and archiving
- Design, develop, and maintain database tables, stored procedures, and supporting objects
- Build and support operational reports for the company and clients
- Provide operational support, resolve recurring problems, and identify root causes
- Document database topology, architecture, processes, and procedures
- Develop SQL queries and support ad hoc data requests
- Assist with capacity planning and resource expansion through data aggregation and analysis
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure reports and metrics identify business needs and process-improvement opportunities
- Identify database-platform inefficiencies and provide solutions to management
- Develop time estimates for assigned tasks
- Assist in resolving business and technical problems
- Monitor emerging security threats, perform periodic security reviews, and propose mitigation approaches
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, in data utilization and information access
- Follow Change Management policies and procedures for production changes
- Protect and disclose patients’ protected health information only in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures
- Limit PHI access to the minimum necessary for assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSCS with 3+ years MS SQL experience
- Thorough understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints
- Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014
- Knowledge of SSIS/SSRS is a plus
- Experience with C# or VB.NET
- Technical knowledge of MS SQL Server internals with emphasis on query performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Must possess a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes
- Ability to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress
