About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the month-end close process and ensure deadlines are met
- Complete balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Manage NZ group GST returns and transfer pricing calculations
- Support the annual financial audit with external auditors
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Lead monthly consolidation and elimination processes for group reporting
- Prepare and review monthly management reports
- Provide trend analysis and commentary to support decision-making
- Identify process automation and finance-system improvement opportunities across Business Central and other systems
- Lead, mentor and develop three Accounting Assistants
- Allocate workload and support Accounting Assistants' ongoing growth
- Provide day-to-day finance support and advice to the Doctor Pay & Invoicing team and wider business
- Contribute to the ISO 9001 quality management system
- Support ongoing legislative compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting
- CPA/CA qualification or working towards it
- Experience with finance and invoicing systems
- High degree of computer and financial literacy
- High attention to detail and process-focused approach
- Strong organisational and meticulous administration skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to anticipate needs and work to tight deadlines
- Privacy and confidentiality are essential
- Enthusiasm for AI and technology
- Interest in mentoring and developing others
- Right to work in New Zealand
