About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop value-adding features for customers using Clean Code principles
Take responsibility for the team’s services from requirements analysis through operation using DevOps practices
Make architectural decisions to ensure application performance, robustness, and maintainability
Support the transition from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud
Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to team growth
Analyze recurring support requests and implement automated solutions in code
Foster an open, honest, and constructive team discussion culture
Work on the Payment & Basket Platform team’s core stack and improve developer experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional experience working with Kotlin
Strong knowledge of backend technologies and frameworks such as Node.js and Express
Knowledge of Quarkus / Spring Boot is nice to have
Extensive experience in API design
Experience integrating microservices in a fault-tolerant and RESTful manner
Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL
Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of payment gateways and integrations such as Stripe and PayPal
Familiarity with web application performance optimization
Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java
Practical experience with GitOps, Terraform, Helm, Flux, and Kubernetes
Familiarity with operating business-critical services and monitoring them using Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana
Understanding of microservices architecture and implementation
Knowledge of common design patterns and testing strategies
Knowledge of web application security best practices
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies
Excellent English language skills, written and spoken
