About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the day-to-day management and future development of MeDirect's Belgian investment business
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the investment platform and investment offering
- Coordinate investment-related projects and support governance of the investment offering
- Oversee key operational processes and act as the primary point of contact for complex investment-related customer and operational matters
- Improve the brokerage investment platform for trading in mutual funds, bonds, equities and ETFs
- Develop features such as fractional investing and periodic investment plans
- Improve instrument-specific datapoints, analytics, filtering capabilities, investment inspiration and discovery tools
- Monitor market trends and industry innovations to develop future-proof solutions
- Govern the investible universe, including bond selection, stock universe assessment, new exchanges and market venues
- Assess opportunities in structured notes, capital-protected solutions and other investment products
- Lead investment-related operational activities and processes within the Belgian Product Team
- Maintain oversight of operational performance, identify issues and ensure remediation and continuous improvement
- Develop, maintain and review investment-related procedures, policies and operating guidelines
- Track and implement audit findings, compliance recommendations and regulatory actions
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex investment-related customer enquiries
- Provide investment product and operational-process expertise to the Contact Centre
- Analyse recurring customer issues and implement structural improvements with stakeholders
- Coordinate strategic and operational projects and translate enhancement opportunities into business requirements
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, Compliance, Legal and other stakeholders to deliver projects
- Monitor project progress, manage dependencies and support timely delivery
- Act as Belgian business owner for investment-related operational and platform enhancements
- Investigate and resolve investment-related incidents and operational issues
- Coordinate incident analysis and resolution with Operations, IT and internal stakeholders
- Support root cause analysis and identify corrective actions
- Document and communicate incidents, resolutions and lessons learned
- Lead and execute UAT for investment-related developments, platform enhancements and process changes
- Prepare test scenarios and validate business, operational and customer requirements
- Document, prioritise and report defects and improvement opportunities
- Support implementation of new products, features and operational processes through testing and post-implementation reviews
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
- Minimum five years of experience within investment operations, brokerage services, investment products, securities processing, business analysis or project management in a financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of investment products and financial markets, including equities, ETFs, bonds and execution-only investment services
- Proven experience in coordinating cross-functional projects involving business, operations, technology, compliance and external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of investment operational processes, securities lifecycle events, brokerage platforms and customer investment journeys
- Proactive, hands-on and detail-oriented mindset, with a continuous improvement attitude and the ability to work independently
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business requirements gathering, process design and change management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment
- Excellent organisational skills with a structured and methodical approach to work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and either Dutch or French
