About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide patients through enrollment in healthcare programs and ensure complete, accurate documentation
- Evaluate patient eligibility based on age, medical conditions, and other qualifying criteria
- Conduct patient consultations and explain healthcare program benefits and requirements
- Document patient information, enrollment details, and eligibility assessments in EHR or designated systems
- Monitor enrollment applications and communicate with patients
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate enrollment
- Educate patients about Medsien healthcare programs
- Comply with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality
- Stay informed about healthcare program changes, updates, and new offerings
- Communicate program changes to patients
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, social workers, and other relevant parties
- Maintain ongoing monthly contact with assigned patients as their dedicated care partner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Spanish/English bilingual; must speak and write Spanish and English fluently
- Active certification as a Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited institution (NHA, AAMA, NCCT, NAHP, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and understandably
- Ability to interact empathetically with patients
- Keen attention to detail for accurate enrollment applications and documentation
- Effective organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple patient enrollments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct when handling sensitive patient information
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude
