About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build backend architecture for AI-powered automation systems
- Integrate and scale LLM-based product features with AI engineers and product teams
- Implement and evolve agent-based systems such as ReAct and supervisor-agent models
- Optimize RAG pipelines and context enrichment using structured and unstructured data
- Develop robust APIs for internal services and external integrations
- Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting using tools such as Grafana and OpenSearch
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
- Maintain high-quality technical documentation for newly designed systems and APIs
- Build production-grade systems that automate clinical and operational workflows
- Collaborate with AI engineers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of commercial backend development with Node.js in product companies, preferably SaaS
- Deep understanding of complex backend systems end-to-end
- Experience designing backend architectures and technical solutions, including system decomposition, scalability trade-offs, long-term maintainability, and technology choices
- Proven experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems and robust APIs
- Strong understanding of data flows, failure modes, and performance bottlenecks
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production systems
- Experience designing and implementing multi-agent AI workflows in production, including orchestration logic, ReAct patterns, and supervisor-agent architectures
- Practical experience with modern AI frameworks
- Experience designing and optimizing RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector databases, retrieval strategies, ranking, chunking, and quality-versus-latency trade-offs
- Strong prompt engineering skills, including structured JSON/YAML outputs, schema validation, evaluation-based iteration, and reliability techniques
- Understanding of LLM infrastructure in production, including tracing and observability, evaluation frameworks, quality metrics, safety mechanisms, guardrails, performance optimization, and cost optimization
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS, including CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, and ElastiCache
- Good understanding of observability and debugging using Grafana, OpenSearch, or similar tools
- Strong engineering culture involving testing, CI/CD, reliability, and technical ownership
- Product-oriented mindset focused on user-centered automation
- Proactive AI enthusiast mindset
- Fluent Russian
- English B2+
- Experience with medical/healthcare AI or regulated environments is a plus
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) in Node.js is a plus
