About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage short-term electricity positions in the Day-Ahead and Intraday markets
- Continuously develop and enhance trading activities
- Analyze forecasts, balancing group positions, market prices, and market signals
- Derive economically optimal trading decisions
- Optimize short-term energy procurement, taking market prices, expected balancing energy prices, and regulatory requirements into account
- Further develop models and optimization logic together with the Commercial Analytics team
- Support the implementation and further development of automated trading, forecasting, and optimization processes, as well as the required systems
- Monitor the performance of trading strategies, forecasts, and models
- Identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control standards
- Contribute to cross-functional projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience in energy trading, balancing group management, portfolio management, or a comparable energy industry environment
- Strong understanding of electricity markets and the interrelationships between forecasts, balancing groups, schedules, and balancing energy
- Ideally, experience in Day-Ahead or Intraday trading
- Interest in data-driven decision-making models, automation, and the further development of trading processes
- Strong IT affinity and the ability to quickly learn new systems, data models, and applications
- Analytical thinking, initiative, and a structured way of working
- Very good written and spoken German
- Good written and spoken English
