About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Director of Counseling Services
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children or adolescents and family dynamics
- Identify behavioral, emotional, and psychological challenges
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Review referral information and contact youth or families within 48 hours of assignment
- Document referral sources and communicate with referring care managers
- Provide weekly individual therapy to youth
- Offer clinical support and guidance to parents, guardians, and caregivers in home settings
- Collaborate with treatment team members, referring agencies, and other professionals
- Maintain communication with referring care managers regarding progress, service needs, and authorization timelines
- Educate families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and effective parenting techniques
- Encourage family participation in the therapeutic process
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Submit client-related paperwork monthly to the Director of Counseling Services
- Submit timesheets and completed/signed Service Delivery Forms biweekly for each face-to-face visit
- Participate in biweekly supervision with the Director of Counseling Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline
- Appropriate licensure or certification: LCSW, LPC, LSW, or LAC
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, behavioral interventions, and family systems
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex cases
- Familiarity with community resources and referral processes
- Comfort working in clients’ homes and community settings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel to client homes
- Successful completion of background checks and required clearances, including criminal history and child abuse checks
- Maintenance of personal malpractice insurance coverage throughout employment
- Willingness to travel to clients’ homes and community locations
