About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Meet with participants to determine financial goals and assist them in accomplishing those goals
  • Work closely with participants to develop budgets
  • Assist participants in becoming financially independent
  • Complete bookkeeping tasks, including entering budgets, bills, and payments in financial software
  • Collaboratively document participant progress in the electronic health records system
  • Travel within the community and to supported sites and MHP offices as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree and two years of related experience or HS diploma and six years of related experience required
  • 2+/6+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (including internships or volunteering) depending on highest degree completed
  • Experience with accounting software and electronic health records is a plus
  • Experience in behavioral health services or customer service is a plus
  • Basic computer skills, including desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, and accounting software
  • Patience, tact, and ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of individuals, including people in addiction and/or mental health recovery
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's using American money
  • Depending on assigned territory, valid driver's license
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before beginning employment, subject to qualifying medical or religious exemptions
  • Ability to travel within the community, use public transportation, move around inner-city neighborhoods, carry computer equipment, ascend/descend stairs, and travel to supported sites and MHP offices as needed
