About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in two to three one-hour video conversations with the Mercor team over roughly four weeks
- Discuss how enterprise cybersecurity work happens, including tools, queues, and areas requiring judgment
- Explain how teams measure triage, investigation, containment, threat hunting, detection rule, or patch quality
- Share where AI assistance helps or hinders current security work
- Provide feedback on Mercor's draft AI cyber-defense task taxonomy, including missing, mislabeled, or differently weighted tasks
- Describe general patterns without sharing confidential information or specific incidents
- Nothing to build, label, or submit
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current or recent hands-on practitioner in enterprise security
- Examples include SOC analysts and SOC leads (tier 2 and above)
- Incident response and digital forensics experience
- Detection engineering and threat hunting experience
- Application security or product security engineering experience finding and fixing vulnerabilities in production code
- Experience running or participating in a red team engagement
- Experience with an EDR and SIEM stack such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, Splunk, SentinelOne, Elastic, or similar is a plus
- Security leaders are welcome if still close to the work
- Must be based in the United States
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
