About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete self-contained financial-crime and KYC analyst case exercises from mock files
  • Produce analyst deliverables graded against a rubric
  • Adjudicate transaction-monitoring alerts using alert packets, KYC/CDD profiles, and transaction histories
  • Document alert dispositions and draft SAR narratives where warranted
  • Review client onboarding and KYC packets for completeness and cross-document discrepancies
  • Produce remediation lists
  • Resolve multi-layer beneficial-ownership structures using 10%/25% UBO thresholds
  • Adjudicate sanctions and adverse-media hits as true matches, false positives, or escalations, with rationales
  • Triage supervisory alert queues
  • Adjudicate card fraud and disputes
  • Assess flagged communications against trade records
  • Complete a timed assessment involving mock alerts, KYC discrepancies, remediation, and sanctions-hit adjudication
  • Work on projects training and enhancing AI systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in AML / financial-crime, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud/disputes, or transaction surveillance
  • Experience at a bank, fintech, payments company, or MSB
  • Working knowledge of FinCEN, FATF, and OFAC frameworks
  • Knowledge of SAR / CDD documentation standards
  • Clear, defensible written rationales
  • US-based
  • Must be an independent contractor
  • Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates
  • CAMS/ACAMS or CFE preferred
  • Enhanced due diligence / entity unwinding preferred
  • SQL or transaction analytics preferred
  • Fintech / payments experience preferred
