About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work on research-level physics problems in the applicant’s specific subfield
- Create, solve, review, or audit physics challenges depending on publication-record fit
- Produce complete written reasoning for independent specialist verification
- Apply methods involving special function analysis, integrability, combinatorics, or geometric analysis
- Submit representative papers, author position, and demonstrated methods for each selected research area
- Participate in onboarding or a short live alignment call to agree on the area and assignment
- Complete a 30 to 45 minute assessment if required
- Collaborate on projects that train and enhance frontier AI systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- PhD in mathematical physics, theoretical physics, or mathematics (hard requirement)
- Published work on at least one specified phenomenon: special functions, integrable systems, permutation combinatorics for random tensor network entanglement, or conformal geometry
- Verifiable publication record with three to five representative papers, preferably first-author papers, including arXiv IDs or DOIs
- Publications ideally from the last five years
- Postdoctoral researchers, research scientists, and junior faculty are strongest fits; senior PhD students with a strong first-author record may apply
- Working proficiency with LaTeX, Python, SymPy, and Jupyter
- English proficiency at B2 level or above, including written reasoning
- Ability to provide complete written reasoning that another specialist can independently follow and verify
- Applicants must be able to work as independent contractors
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
- Commitment of 10 hours per week across an 8 to 10 week window, starting immediately
