Write concise justifications grounded in source documents and applicable US law
Create realistic legal prompts, fact patterns, and model answers based on in-house experience
Flag errors, gaps, and risky advice in AI-generated legal content
Attend onboarding and calibration sessions
Participate in recurring side-by-side evaluations and legal dataset generation for frontier AI models

Requirements

What you’ll need

Admitted to practice in at least one US state with active bar membership
3+ years of legal practice, including in-house experience advising a business on contracts, compliance, employment, risk, or disputes
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Clear writing and close attention to detail
2+ years of experience at an AmLaw 100 firm strongly preferred
Prior work on legal AI projects with Mercor is a bonus qualification
Prior data annotation, AI evaluation, or legal-benchmark experience is a bonus qualification
Must be able to work as an independent contractor
H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
