About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the strategic plan for risk assumption, risk transfer, and loss prevention activities associated with physician and non-clinical risks
  • Participate in collecting underwriting information for captive, reinsurance, physician, commercial insurance policy renewals, and bonds
  • Maintain underwriting data for historical purposes
  • Assist with risk evaluation and physician onboarding into the captive
  • Maintain databases of insured entities, properties, vehicles, drivers, and physicians in the risk management information system
  • Maintain insurance schedules, policies, premiums, and policy summaries
  • Assist with physician credentialing and loss history requests
  • Analyze risk and implement loss prevention activities, including education, for clinical and non-clinical policies
  • Assist with compliance related to patient compensation funds and other special state funds
  • Process and track invoices, premium payments, and premium returns
  • Coordinate certificate requests with facilities, practice managers, real estate, finance, human resources, and other internal departments
  • Work on special projects and assist as needed
  • Keep Administrative and Clinical Leaders and Market/System Risk informed of significant events and risk management activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree required, majoring in Risk Management, Healthcare, Business, or related field
  • CPHRM required within 4 years of hire
  • 3+ years in healthcare provision or administration, insurance, loss prevention, or related field, or combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree
  • CPCU, ARM, or similar certifications preferred
  • 5+ years in healthcare provision or administration, insurance, loss prevention, or related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
