About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws
- Document according to standards of care
- Perform assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family instruction
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities and shared governance
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of patients’ longitudinal care plans
- Apply critical thinking to patient safety and patient experience and escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command
- Participate in the professional nursing continuum, unit practice activities and decisions, and peer review process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- ADN required upon hire
- Licensed as an RN in state of practice
- Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days
- Other certification(s) per unit requirements, such as ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
- May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify, per department guidelines
- Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check for positions requiring it
- Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check
- Must be able to follow written or oral instructions
- May include color blind test
- Occupational exposure applies to all partners in the specified job classification
- Ability to perform required physical duties, including frequent lifting or moving up to 100 pounds for hospital RNs
