About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop embedded software for connected devices using C/C++ on Linux-based platforms
Design and implement communication between hardware, embedded systems, cloud services and applications
Build backend services, REST APIs and internal engineering tools primarily using Python
Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and system monitoring
Investigate and troubleshoot issues across firmware, software, connectivity, cloud and hardware integration
Own projects and features end-to-end from design and implementation through deployment and production
Drive continuous software improvements once hardware is stable and robust
Collaborate with Product, Hardware, Backend, AI and Data teams
Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
Support and guide junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
Serve as a senior technical reference without people-management responsibility

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with solid experience in embedded systems
Strong experience developing embedded software in C/C++
Solid experience with Linux-based embedded systems, Linux development environments and Bash scripting
Strong development skills in Python, including backend development and REST APIs
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Hetzner or similar
Knowledge of BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, MQTT, TCP/IP and HTTP/REST
Familiarity with Qt5 and Yocto or similar embedded Linux build systems
Hands-on experience with Docker, containers, Git and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with FastAPI, Django or similar, and SQL/PostgreSQL
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews and maintainable software design
Excellent debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills across hardware, software and integration layers
Ownership, autonomy and ability to work across embedded, backend and cloud layers
Professional English level
