About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, integrate, and test avionics and control components for aircraft and test labs
- Oversee and/or perform system integration design and analysis, including stress and model analyses
- Provide CAD work supporting design activities and apply industry best practices for GD&T
- Support component, system development, and system certification testing
- Create test plans, analyze data, and generate test reports and documentation
- Prepare and coordinate mechanical design and fabrication drawings and related documents
- Travel up to 25–50%, sometimes on short notice, to domestic and international locations for aircraft and system integration and testing
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years technical work experience
- Advanced modeling experience with SolidWorks, Catia, OnShape, Fusion360, or Creo
- Experience with rapid design cycles from concept through detailed design, build, and test
- Experience leading engineering activities including mechanism design, controls design and analysis, environmental analysis, and structural analysis
- Outstanding organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Working knowledge of RTCA DO-160, DO-254, and MIL-STD-810 (nice to have)
- Hands-on lab/field capability, including SMT soldering, drilling, hand tools, and mechanical assembly (nice to have)
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, motors, and EMI/EMC design and qualification testing (nice to have)
- Expertise in weight-critical, high-performance mechanical systems interface management (nice to have)
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, current probes, data acquisition, and bus analyzers (nice to have)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must pass background and reference checks
