About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work outdoors on heavy lift equipment including gantry cranes, railjacks, forklifts, welders, service trucks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical equipment
  • Provide training and technical knowledge across the full range of equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Support customers by interfacing effectively with customers and internal teams
  • Evaluate equipment and recommend required repairs
  • Provide clear work order documentation and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in delivering required training to coworkers
  • Complete special projects and other assigned work
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including to customer sites in Canada, for service, repairs, maintenance, and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School graduate, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the service and repair of industrial equipment
  • Expert knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Capable of reading variable schematic logic for low/high voltage electrical and hydraulics
  • Field-related certificates and endorsements are positively reviewed
  • Ability to lead, teach, and share knowledge
  • Willingness to travel throughout the western region and internationally, including Canada
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for cross-border travel and entry into Canada
  • Willingness to work at various heights
  • Safety-minded/oriented
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies and testing
  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrum
  • Basic knowledge of SPC fundamentals
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products and other data systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to follow posted work rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism
  • Accurate hand/eye coordination, finger dexterity, and hand strength
  • Ability to grasp, lift, push, and pull
  • Ability to use a computer, calculator, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, climbing, crawling, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, communicating, stooping, bending, and sitting
  • Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Full complement of tools required; tool list provided
  • 75% travel required within the United States and internationally to Canada
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Successful background screening for customer site access and international travel eligibility
  • Occasional overtime required
