About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work outdoors on heavy lift equipment, including gantry cranes, railjacks, forklifts, welders, service trucks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical systems
  • Provide training and technical knowledge across the full range of equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Support customers by interfacing effectively with customers and internal teams
  • Evaluate equipment and recommend required repairs
  • Prepare clear work order documentation and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with required training for coworkers
  • Complete special projects and assigned work
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including to customer sites in Canada, for service, repairs, maintenance, and training
  • Work in factory or field environments with exposure to noise, machinery, and weather
  • Perform physically demanding work including standing, walking, climbing, crawling, driving, bending, lifting, and working at heights
  • Work occasional overtime

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in the service and repair of industrial equipment
  • Expert knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read variable schematic logic for low/high voltage electrical systems and hydraulics
  • Field-related certificates and endorsements are desired
  • Ability to lead, teach, and share knowledge
  • Willingness to travel throughout the western region and internationally as required
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for cross-border travel, including entry into Canada
  • Willingness to work at various heights
  • Safety-minded orientation
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies and testing
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrum
  • Basic knowledge of SPC fundamentals
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other data systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to follow posted work rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass background screening required for customer site access and international travel eligibility
  • Full complement of tools required
  • Travel of 75% required
