  • Create community legal education materials
  • Serve as liaison with courts, medical staff, community partners, and volunteers
  • Track data for evaluation and grant reporting
  • Coordinate with doctors and social workers
  • Perform administrative tasks for the Medical Legal Partnership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Paralegal studies certificate or degree, some college, or at least 3 years of relevant post-high-school work experience required
  • Effective oral and written communication with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Commitment to serving low-income and underserved communities
  • Patience, empathy, and sensitivity
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the civil legal system
  • Ability to attend meetings, hearings, clinics, school meetings, and community events throughout Washtenaw County
  • Ability to conduct possible home visits with MLP clients
