About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the on-site videographer and photographer for Michigan Humane
  • Create photo and video assets for animals being tracked while in Michigan Humane’s care
  • Assist the Social Media Associate with content creation
  • Work with the Field Services team to document on-the-road calls and collect team footage in the field
  • Support the Philanthropy department by creating photo and video materials for annual fund direct mail and email campaigns
  • Create weekly pre-recorded content for weekly news segments and partner activations
  • Document Michigan Humane’s work with Community Solution activations at off-site events
  • Organize, label, and maintain photo and video files and project assets
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on photo and video projects from initial concept through final delivery
  • Provide directorial vision for creative visual storytelling
  • Perform basic color correction, exposure adjustments, cropping, and image enhancement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–2 years of experience in video editing, photo editing, or a related creative field
  • Working knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design, including use of Canva as a design tool
  • Stay current with social media trends, editing techniques, and visual content styles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
