About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist members with Credit Union needs over the phone
- Explain products and services
- Open new accounts and process loan requests
- Respond to problems and make recommendations to satisfy member needs
- Direct members to appropriate individuals as needed
- Attain established cross-selling goals for Credit Union products and services
- Complete transactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality and complying with policies and procedures
- Handle inbound telephone requests and multimedia inquiries
- Open and close accounts and answer product and service questions
- Resolve problems within authority and refer others to a supervisor
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote and sell products and services
- Process loan requests and answer loan-related questions
- Research and solve lending problems; provide information on rates, terms, and financing alternatives
- Promote and educate members about debt protection products
- Assist members with Home Banking products
- Respond daily to Home Banking vendor and website emails
- Accept domestic wire transfer information, perform OFAC inquiries, complete verification, and obtain authorizations before submission to Accounting
- Maintain service standards, productivity, quality, attendance, confidentiality, and performance metrics
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year to three years of similar or related experience
- A high school education or GED
- Ability to speak Spanish is an asset for this position
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple workloads
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Organizational, verbal, written communication, and listening skills
- Accuracy with numbers and names, problem analysis, and problem resolution skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to bend, sit, and stand; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
- Capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency
- Normal range of vision and hearing abilities
- Ability to operate routine office equipment
- Ability to work at a computer for 6–8 hours per day when necessary
- Ability to work extended hours or travel off site when required
- Regular, reliable, and timely attendance
- Ability to perform work independently or with limited supervision
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
- Basic mathematical calculation and spelling skills
- Understanding of computer basics and ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to handle diverse personalities, confidential matters, deadlines, extreme accuracy requirements, and changing priorities
- Candidates must be local and reside within a 25-mile radius of any branch location
- Candidates must be able to report to a branch if necessary
