Key responsibilities & impact

Lead technical strategy for AI/LLM systems across Midi's product surfaces
Architect retrieval, orchestration, agentic, and evaluation systems that run reliably in production
Set standards for AI safety, evaluation, observability, and responsible rollout in healthcare
Partner with clinical, product, and executive leadership to shape the AI roadmap
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and raise AI literacy across the organization
Evaluate new models, techniques, and tools and bring appropriate ones into the team

What you’ll need

10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep recent experience leading production AI/LLM systems
Hands-on coding experience with regular production Python development
Experience designing AI systems at scale, including retrieval, agents, evaluation, latency, and cost
Authority and rigorous judgment in AI engineering
Experience setting AI tooling and AI product development practices
Experience mentoring engineers into strong AI builders
Strong communication with product, clinical, and executive stakeholders
Thoughtfulness about risk and safety tradeoffs
Healthcare, clinical NLP, or regulated AI deployment experience is nice to have
Track record of shipping agentic or large-scale RAG systems in production is nice to have
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship needs
