About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide out-of-court legal advice and representation to members on all tenancy law matters
- Clarify rights and obligations arising from tenancy agreements
- Assist with the interpretation and application of tenancy law provisions
- Advise on rent increases, service charge statements, terminations, and housing defects
- Review and assess tenancy agreements
- Assist with correspondence with landlords
- Mediate disputes to achieve out-of-court settlements
- Plan and lead workshops and information events
- Create brochures, guides, and online content
- Advise the organization’s management on tenancy law matters
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal policies
- Conduct mediation proceedings, where qualified
- Contribute to the further development of the association’s policies and services
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least the First State Examination in Law; the Second State Examination in Law also qualifies
- Legal expertise in tenancy law
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and understandably
- Ability to provide advice and out-of-court representation on all aspects of tenancy law
- Diplomatic skills for mediating between tenants and landlords
- Willingness to represent tenants’ interests in the public sphere
- Commitment to transparent, fair, and inclusive housing policy
- Mediation training is optional but advantageous for mediation-related duties
