About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and research the payments market to drive revenues across open banking, alternative payment methods, diverse target markets and stablecoins
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers
  • Conduct regular supplier performance and risk reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier services and increase revenues
  • Manage supplier relationships and escalated incidents as required
  • Maintain key performance and risk indicators for supplier performance
  • Track supplier performance by country, payment rail and supplier, and suggest improvements
  • Analyze data and trends to improve performance and revenue
  • Act as the go-to point for supplier relationships and drive resolution of key issues
  • Negotiate, draft and manage supplier contracts
  • Monitor contract compliance and promptly address deviations or disputes
  • Renew, extend or terminate contracts in alignment with company goals
  • Identify and assess supplier relationship risks
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting supplier risk

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Either a university degree or equivalent in Commerce, Business Administration or in an equivalent field of study, or prior experience in account management, customer support, sales, or business development, within online payments space
  • Minimum 4 years of online payments industry experience
  • Experience with large PSPs, APMs, open banking solutions, stablecoins and their infrastructure, and banking rails
  • Excellent understanding of online payments flows from authorisation to settlement and systems required to support reconciliation
  • Experience managing issues and escalations with third-party suppliers
  • Proven experience representing large clients within online payments from the merchant or provider side
  • Commercial awareness and ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm in a dynamic, fast-moving, results-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Preferably experience with CRM systems and/or in-house software programs
  • Experience drafting proposals and presenting in front of clients considered an important asset
  • Availability to travel and meet/network with clients in person
  • Additional language skills are a strong plus
