About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set and implement financial, business, and management strategies for MIG’s Colorado and Washington multifamily investments
  • Provide hands-on asset management to complete value-add business plans, acquisitions, and dispositions
  • Drive property performance and execute value-add renovation strategies and capital projects
  • Motivate property management and in-house support teams to meet deadlines and achieve above-market performance
  • Manage revenue enhancement, expense management, renovation projects, marketing programs, and reputation management
  • Set priorities, provide direction, motivate third-party management personnel, and measure team performance
  • Analyze asset performance against original underwriting and competitive-set performance; adjust management strategies
  • Collaborate with the Senior Revenue Manager to maximize RevPAU
  • Drive property managers to meet or exceed budget and business-plan metrics; recommend improvements
  • Develop strategic approaches for each asset to drive traffic, leasing, and achievable value
  • Manage common-area and unit renovation projects and work with design and construction professionals
  • Develop scopes of work for capital improvements, oversee project management, and track ROI
  • Ensure renovated units and overall property conditions meet MIG standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with acquisitions, finance, and analyst teams on underwriting and due diligence
  • Survey portfolio properties with property management and construction teams to establish best practices
  • Review and approve contracts, operating statements, and operational information
  • Prepare and present annual budgets and business plans for each asset
  • Monitor market and submarket conditions and modify operational strategies accordingly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Located in either the Denver or Seattle metro areas, with ability to frequently travel between markets
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience stated in the role overview
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in finance, real estate, business or economics
  • Minimum of five (5) years of asset management experience with value-add multifamily investments
  • Demonstrated ability to grow NOI through creative value enhancement strategies and proven execution
  • Leadership experience motivating team members to achieve goals
  • Prior success executing fast-paced renovation projects on time and within budget
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to gather data and make sound strategic recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer applications, spreadsheets, and modeling concepts
  • Self-motivated team player for a fast-paced, growing company
