About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Recruit and assess experienced entrepreneurs and operators for the FIR pipeline
  • Build relationships within Mila’s research community
  • Manage the FIR selection committee process from initial outreach through partnership signing
  • Establish credible relationships with CEOs of venture-backed companies
  • Drive performance metrics, including FIR signings, matches made, and conversion rates
  • Fix what is not working
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to rethink talent sourcing and qualification
  • Launch new streams, including Applied AI and Bay Area returnees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Junior manager level — a few years of experience and ready to lead a program rather than simply support it
  • Former consultant at a leading consulting firm; experience in tech or startups is preferred but not required
  • Credibility with CEOs of venture-backed companies
  • Energetic, motivated, sociable, and mission-driven
  • Ability to engage with a CEO and be taken seriously from day one
