About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and evolve backend architectures using Python, FastAPI, and APIs
- Lead the integration of advanced AI models, including LLMs, agents, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases
- Define, optimize, and oversee AI pipelines and distributed systems
- Promote software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, architecture, and documentation
- Participate in code reviews, technology selection, and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor, advise, and support less experienced developers
- Contribute to the reliability, performance, and security of deployed applications
- Collaborate with researchers, engineers, designers, and project managers to align products with user needs
- Document architectures, data flows, technical decisions, and shared modules
- Develop internal tools and reusable components for the AI ecosystem
- Maintain strategic awareness of GenAI, LLMOps, RAG, and emerging agent architectures
- Transform prototypes, advanced models, and research ideas into robust platforms, real-world products, and interactive demonstrations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, applied mathematics, AI, or a related field
- 5–7 years of software development experience, including significant backend experience
- Excellent proficiency in Python, APIs, database integrations, and distributed services
- Strong skills in software architecture, service design, and engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization
- Demonstrated experience with LLMs, RAG, agents, embeddings, or vector databases
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and lead technical initiatives
- Bilingual proficiency required due to interactions with English-speaking partners, stakeholders, and members of the academic community
- Expertise in FastAPI, cloud orchestration on GCP or Azure, and containerized environments using Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with Qdrant, Milvus, Weaviate, or other vector stores
- Knowledge of agent architectures, LangChain, complex RAG systems, or evaluation frameworks
- Frontend knowledge of React or Next.js is an asset
- Experience with observability, monitoring, metrics, and AI system optimization
- Interest in GenAI production patterns, including evaluation, guardrails, optimized retrieval, and agent memory
