About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop back-end web application services
- Contribute to architecture decisions
- Discover and integrate new technologies
- Support and maintain the codebase
- Use AI tools across the development workflow and share useful techniques with colleagues
- Help embed a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
- Work within a cross-functional product team alongside senior engineers, product managers, designers, engineers, QA, and domain experts
- Iteratively refine and deliver solutions aligned with customer needs and internal architecture
- Improve the existing platform, identify gaps, and drive solutions balancing speed, reliability, and long-term sustainability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate education level
- 5+ years of professional work experience as a back-end engineer
- Strong understanding of Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of modern web application development, including APIs, services, architecture, and security
- Experience with distributed messaging systems such as SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
- Experience with event-driven, micro-service architecture
- Ability to independently gain knowledge and use new frameworks
- Comfortable using AI tools in the development workflow
- Good spoken and written English
- High degree of personal honesty and integrity
- Experience building FX, Cash Management, or Interest Rate financial systems is an additional skill
- Experience developing cloud-native solutions in AWS is strongly valued but not essential
- Experience with IaaC is an additional skill
- Experience with Coding Agents and Context Engineering Practices is an additional skill
