About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all strategic sourcing activities within the assigned region, including supplier identification, qualification, negotiation, onboarding, performance management, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and improve sourcing and category management strategies supporting profitability, supply continuity, and business growth
  • Develop proficiency in Millwood's pallet design software and support costing, quoting, and sourcing decisions
  • Develop working knowledge of Millwood's order entry and customer support systems, including order management, customer communications, accounts receivable follow-up, and cross-functional coverage
  • Provide pricing support to Regional Sales Managers using approved costing methodologies, market intelligence, and internal systems
  • Maintain current pricing by material and region
  • Maintain supplier, pricing, quoting, and activity records in Salesforce; document supplier capabilities, visit reports, and business developments
  • Serve as primary contact for supplier-related issues and facilitate resolution with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze procurement and market data to identify cost reductions, improve supplier performance, benchmark spending, and support decisions
  • Conduct monthly reviews of customer pricing and sourcing costs and discuss recommendations with Regional Sales Managers
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and onboard supplier partners; maintain a prospective-supplier pipeline
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Quality, manufacturing facilities, and supplier partners on costing, quality, performance, and growth
  • Travel approximately 25% or more as business needs require; submit vendor visit reports and Salesforce updates within 48 hours of visits
  • Support annual sourcing objectives, supplier diversity initiatives, and cost savings goals
  • Assist with contingency sourcing plans to mitigate disruptions and ensure supply continuity
  • Resolve supplier quality concerns and implement corrective actions with operations and quality teams
  • Participate in strategic planning for regional growth and profitability
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field is preferred or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, supplier development, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, or other CRMs required
  • Current and valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience within pallet manufacturing, lumber, wood products, packaging, logistics, or industrial manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement data
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple departments and external business partners
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, with formal and conversational English; bilingual with Spanish a plus
  • Clear, concise, and professional written communication skills in English
