About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Spanish simultaneous interpretation for a conference in Seattle on October 21st–23rd, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. each day
- Bring personal interpretation equipment
- Support multilingual students, families, and staff across educational, local government, and other non-profit clients
- Provide onsite interpretation at client sites in the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area
- Provide remote video interpretation for virtual meetings and assessments
- Perform mostly consecutive and some simultaneous interpretation
- Participate in feedback cycles using tools like LinguistLink
- Support Mindlink’s mission of language access and equity in education
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3 years of professional interpreting experience
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation in a large group setting
- Native-level fluency in Spanish
- Completion of an accredited interpreter training program (preferred)
- Certification from CCHI, NBCMI, RID, NAJIT, or Oregon State Court Interpretation (preferred)
- Experience in K-12 educational settings, especially with IEPs and special education services (preferred)
- Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other video platforms (preferred)
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Professional headset and webcam
- Secure and quiet workspace
- Only candidates able to work in-person in the Seattle area will be considered for this event
- Legally authorized to work in the US
