About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather required documentation and information from clients to support their claims
  • Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the claims process
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure claims are processed accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate with Social Security Administration officials to resolve issues or discrepancies
  • Handle high call volume
  • Keep detailed records of client interactions and claim status updates
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to Social Security policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience working with social security claims or similar benefits programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to empathize with clients and provide compassionate support
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of social security policies and procedures (preferred)
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual office environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of virtual phone systems and online scheduling software (preferred)
  • Reliable internet with speeds of at least 100 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload
  • Comfortable place to work and backup plan for occasional internet outages
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week with typical hours of 9:00–6:00 pm EST
