About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform advanced clerical case processing, data entry, and financial transaction entry using multiple court technology systems
  • Review filings for timeliness, completeness, document security, and statutory compliance
  • Determine processing steps based on local and statewide policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate court records in accordance with applicable rules and statutes
  • Provide court information, procedural assistance, and resources to internal and external court customers in person, by phone, in writing, and electronically
  • Coordinate with team members to complete daily assignments and case processing accurately and efficiently
  • Assist other Civil Division departments as needed to ensure office coverage and meet workload demands
  • Provide courtroom support by communicating with judicial officers, court reporters, justice partners, and court customers
  • Manage court calendars and meet operational needs of the court

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year of relevant job experience OR equivalent amount of post-high school education and experience totaling one year
  • Relevant job experience may include customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or other electronic document applications, with the ability to learn other job-related software
  • Ability to meet commitments, organize work, and keep projects on task
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to establish respectful, effective relationships
  • Effective customer service and interpersonal skills, including ability to de-escalate difficult customer interactions
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with court staff, court partners, judicial officers, and the public
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change and learn and apply new material and concepts
  • Ability to transition between assignments

  • Preferred: Knowledge and working experience with Minnesota case management system (MNCIS), eFile and Serve (eFS), and SharePoint
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred: Experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Preferred: Experience exercising independent judgment
  • Preferred: Experience with electronic document applications, workflow queues, and web-based video and audio platforms
  • Preferred: Courtroom experience
