About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Identify and recommend bank products and services to meet customer needs
  • Open new consumer and business deposit accounts
  • Cross-sell bank products and services
  • Prepare and process deposit account paperwork
  • Process transactions and recognize fraud and scam red flags
  • Provide referrals to other business lines, including insurance and real estate
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities to achieve sales and service goals
  • Assist customers with account changes, inquiries, and online banking products and services
  • Perform teller functions, including processing deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts and cashier’s checks, cashing checks, paying out funds, and balancing cash drawers
  • Travel to Minnwest Bank branches within the market to provide staffing coverage
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products and services
  • Comply with Minnwest Bank policies and procedures
  • Attend occasional Universal Banker Training at the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, Minnesota
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2 years cash handling in a customer-facing role
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience in retail banking or financial services in a customer-facing sales role
  • 1 year of consumer, business, and fiduciary account opening experience, or proven proficiency in Minnwest Consumer, Business and Fiduciary Account Training
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Dependable, organized, self-motivated team player
  • Willingness to continuously learn and grow within the organization
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred: 2 to 5 years of consumer and business account openings, closings, and maintenance
  • Preferred: 2-year associate degree
  • Preferred: Effective time management and workload prioritization
  • Preferred: Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services
  • Preferred: Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Preferred: Knowledge of credit and regulatory policy related to consumer lending
  • Must pass a full background check and general financial credit check
  • Must be able to work face-to-face and in person with customers, employees, and departments
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must travel to local branches for staffing coverage
  • Occasional travel (less than 5%) to the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, Minnesota
  • Monday–Friday availability, 8 am–5 pm
