About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to Minnwest Bank customers by identifying and recommending products and services
  • Open new consumer and business deposit accounts and process account paperwork
  • Cross-sell bank retail and business products and services
  • Process customer transactions while recognizing fraud and scam red flags
  • Provide referrals to other business lines, including insurance and real estate
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities to achieve sales and service goals
  • Assist existing customers with account changes, inquiries, and online product or service issues
  • Perform teller functions, including processing deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issuing receipts and cashier’s checks, cashing checks, paying out funds, balancing the cash drawer, and maintaining cash levels
  • Travel to Minnwest Bank branches within the market to provide staffing coverage
  • Attend Universal Banker Training at the Minnwest Bank Training Center in Eagan, Minnesota twice a year
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products and services
  • Comply with Minnwest Bank policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2 years cash handling in a customer facing role
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • 1 year of experience in retail banking, or financial services in a customer facing sales role
  • 1 year consumer, business, and fiduciary account opening or proven proficiency in Minnwest Consumer, Business and Fiduciary Account Training
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner
  • Dependable, organized, self-motivated team player
  • Willing to continuously learn and grow within the organization
  • Intermediate level computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must pass a full background check and general financial credit check
  • Preferred: 2 to 5 years of consumer and business account openings, closings, and maintenance
  • Preferred: 2-year associate degree
  • Preferred: Effective time management skills
  • Preferred: Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services
  • Preferred: Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Preferred: Knowledge of credit and regulatory policy as it relates to consumer lending
