About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support long-term strategies to maximise profitability of ranges, stores and digital business
- Deliver in-season actions to maximise profit opportunities
- Build ranges, complete historical analysis, calculate line buys and make sizing decisions
- Articulate season plans, stretch plans and balance to identify opportunities and risks
- Complete weekly analysis of department, product and store performance
- Provide analytics and trading insight to support commercial decisions
- Analyse all channels, including margin, launch timing, stock and sales potential
- Partner with the Buyer on sourcing strategy, margin, lead time flexibility and sustainability
- Control department stock levels against plan and current trade performance
- Manage the critical path from style booking to stock arrival
- Collaborate across the wider business to deliver department and brand objectives
- Conduct competitor analysis and act on opportunities and concerns
- Communicate commercially valuable innovative ideas and solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Highly numerical and data-driven
- Collaborative approach to work and strong relationship building
- Excellent communication skills with people at all levels
- Proactive and organised, able to manage priorities in a fast-moving context
- Proven relevant trading experience
- Able to make trading decisions at pace within the macro environment
- Proactive data interrogation to identify risks and opportunities and devise action plans
- Resilient and adaptable when working through challenges
- Outstanding understanding of Mint Velvet’s market position and competitors
