About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain customized software solutions for a large European public-sector technology service provider
- Implement software components according to design specifications
- Perform system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
- Perform unit testing of software components
- Participate in estimating project efforts and delivery timelines
- Collaborate with teammates and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure efficient and predictable project execution
- Provide technical input into product roadmaps
- Participate in incident triage, analysis, and prioritization
- Support and optimize CI/CD processes
- Work on a tax administration system covering the full lifecycle of tax declaration processing, tax calculations, and assessments
- Integrate the system with multiple external systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in Java development
- Strong experience with Spring Framework and Quarkus
- Understanding of microservices architecture and containers, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL or other RDBMS
- Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and messaging, including Kafka and ActiveMQ
- Good understanding of testing principles
- Ability to communicate confidently in English
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders and distributed teams
- Experience in Angular front-end development is nice to have
- German or Swiss German language skills are nice to have
