About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Mission Lane's day-to-day corporate legal work
  • Run due diligence and audit requests from intake to close
  • Gather accurate, timely responses from relevant teams
  • Support corporate governance, documentation, corporate filings, entity records, and renewals
  • Manage outside counsel and legal vendor relationships, including invoices, budgets, and legal technology tools
  • Partner with Finance, IT, Tax, Treasury, and the People Team to streamline legal work
  • Assist attorneys on commercial transactions and compliance matters
  • Grow into adjacent work such as Board coordination, legal research, and drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Report to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of corporate and transactional experience, ideally including time in a large corporate legal department or law firm
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to multi-task in a demanding, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with corporate transactions, due diligence, and compliance
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships, including law firm billing
  • Exemplary communication, research, and organizational skills
  • Comfort working alongside AI tools, and curiosity to keep learning and adopting new ways of working as technology evolves
  • Able to work fully remote, with periodic business travel and attendance at company gatherings
  • Experience in financial services
  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts
  • Experience managing a corporate IP portfolio
  • Residence in the Greater Richmond, Virginia area
