About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, administer, and govern compensation, benefits, and performance programs across the multi-state U.S. workforce
  • Own group health and welfare benefit plans, including renewals, plan changes, open enrollment, and vendor management
  • Administer leaves of absence in accordance with federal, state, and local laws
  • Own the 401(k) plan, including vendor and recordkeeper management, plan design, compliance testing, and employee education
  • Manage compensation structure, salary bands, job leveling, and market pricing across functions and locations
  • Lead the annual year-end merit increase process, including budget modeling, manager guidance, and system administration
  • Design and administer incentive plans, annual bonuses, and other variable pay programs
  • Own the year-end performance review process, including cycle design, communications, and system administration
  • Ensure compliance with wage, hour, ERISA, ACA, and pay equity requirements
  • Manage broker, carrier, and vendor relationships
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll on budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation
  • Provide compensation analysis and recommendations for hires, promotions, internal equity, and market adjustments
  • Support compensation and benefits harmonization during acquisition integration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits or total rewards
  • Direct ownership of health & welfare benefits, retirement plans, and compensation programs
  • Experience supporting a multi-state, multi-site workforce
  • Background in agriculture, warehouse/distribution, fulfillment center, or similar operational environment within a corporate structure strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, FLSA, and multi-state compliance requirements
  • Experience leading a merit cycle and administering incentive/bonus plans from design through payout
  • Experience owning or administering a formal performance review process
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using compensation benchmarking and market pricing tools
  • HRIS experience required; Workday experience strongly preferred
  • CCP, CEBS, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex compensation and benefits concepts for employees and leadership
  • Ability to work onsite in Oxnard, California, with 3–5 days in office
