About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units, including the diesel power unit
- Diagnose and troubleshoot cooling, heating, and ventilation systems in the ACU-802 unit
- Conduct inspections and tests for safety, performance, and regulatory compliance
- Replace faulty compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, and filters
- Document maintenance and repair work in line with US Navy policy
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel and engineering teams to identify potential problems
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems
- Knowledge of electrical, control systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and handle over 40 lbs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Bonus: 4+ years of experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems
- Bonus: Diesel Technician experience
- Bonus: Technical certification or associate degree in HVAC or Diesel fields
- Bonus: Experience repairing and maintaining the ACU-802 system within US Navy guidelines
- Bonus: HVAC or EPA Section 608 certification for refrigeration handling
- Bonus: Possess and maintain a Secret clearance
