About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units, including the diesel power unit
- Diagnose and troubleshoot cooling, heating, and ventilation systems in the ACU-802 unit
- Conduct inspections and tests for safety, performance, and regulatory compliance
- Replace faulty components such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, and filters
- Document maintenance and repair work in accordance with US Navy policy
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel and engineering teams to identify potential problems
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
- Experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems
- Knowledge of electrical, control systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and handle over 40lbs
- Strong communications skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Technical certification or Associates in HVAC or Diesel fields (bonus)
- Experience repairing and maintaining the ACU-802 system within US Navy guidelines (bonus)
- Certification in HVAC or EPA Section 608 certification for refrigeration handling (bonus)
