About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and implement business development projects relating to professional services
  • Identify, market, and determine feasibility of product and service development
  • Perform economic analyses on product opportunities and business models
  • Coordinate with internal departments on business development projects
  • Work with sales, marketing, and potential customers to determine needs
  • Develop and execute account strategy and pipeline to win new business within DoW ADO market areas
  • Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities, including prime contracts worth over $50M
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline aligned with HII-Mission Technologies' strategic growth vision
  • Develop and implement customer call plans
  • Assess competitive landscape and lead differentiated win strategies
  • Lead or support negotiation of teaming agreements
  • Engage customers to identify and shape opportunities using mission, capability, relationship, and contract-vehicle knowledge
  • Lead development of white papers, RFIs, market surveys, and sources-sought responses
  • Lead in-person meetings
  • Develop and present bid/no-bid recommendations and pursuit/capture strategies at Gate Reviews
  • Support capture and proposal development through customer insights, solutions support, color reviews, and proposal writing
  • Represent the ADO Group as primary internal and external contact on new business pursuits
  • Interact regularly with high-level customer leadership and collaborate with internal business units
  • Model HII values of integrity, safety, honesty, engagement, responsibility, and performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 8 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
  • Five or more years of specific successful Business Development or Capture Management experience within defense or federal market areas
  • Five or more years of successful Program Management experience as a Program Manager or Deputy Program Manager within defense or federal market areas
  • Established and extensive customer relationships with relevant senior and mid-level leadership in DoW or federal customers
  • Proven ability to form strategic industry partnerships and existing relationships with large and small businesses in federal and commercial markets
  • Ability to learn, be proactive, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrated technical/business GovCon acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior leadership
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and across borders
  • Ability to communicate with end users and discuss capabilities-based solutions
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Tenure and staying power at a company or organization
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Preferred: Top Secret clearance
  • Preferred: P&L or military acquisition program or product management experience
  • Preferred: Understanding of FEDSIM and IAC vehicles, MILDEPs, and GCCs
  • Preferred: Portfolio of wins or depth in pulling opportunities from concept to contract
  • Understanding of services-type contract arrangements and acquisition life cycles
  • Understanding of organizational structure and mission of the 11 Unified Combatant Commands, Department of War, Intelligence Community, Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, and other FEDCIV agencies
