About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Train as a CMS CJADC2 Planner within HII Mission Technologies under a designated HII Supervisor
  • Gain hands-on experience in operational planning, IAMD, and JADC2
  • Apply the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and Joint Military Decision-Making Process (JMDMP)
  • Develop OPLANs, EXORDs, CONPLAN rewrites, OPORDs, appendices, and compliance-ready documentation
  • Analyze and integrate IAMD capabilities into operational planning
  • Identify and integrate JADC2 systems into U.S. Component Air Operations Center operations
  • Advise commanders on joint/allied air, space, and missile defense, including C2 datalink architectures
  • Assess PMESII factors and translate regional strategies into operational and crisis action planning
  • Provide subject matter expertise in operational planning, crisis action planning, and joint decision-making
  • Contribute to Joint Lessons Learned databases through data entry, analysis, gap identification, and capability gap briefs
  • Support joint exercise design, scenario planning, non-organic sensor integration, and Sensor Visibility Project processes
  • Coordinate with A6, A3, ACOMS, and A5M and provide mission engineering support
  • Participate in daily mentorship, hands-on practice, progress reviews, and documented lessons learned
  • Complete a capstone involving full operational plan development, integrated IAMD/JADC2 and PMESII analysis, COP update demonstration, and Multi-TDL improvement recommendations
  • Deliver completed CMS planning products and an executive brief
  • Train behind the scenes and not represent HII to DoD or government customers during the internship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6 years relevant experience with BA or 10 years with HS diploma
  • Strong operational/tactical C2 background including TDL planning
  • Deep understanding of JADC2 and IAMD systems
  • Experience in USAFE or other COCOMs
  • Recent JICO/RICC/AJOC experience within 5 years
  • AOC/JICC experience
  • Completion of JT-201 or JT-220
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Available during core hours for critical meetings and training
  • Eligibility as transitioning active-duty US military personnel in the final 180 days of active-duty service for the DoD SkillBridge Program
  • Preferred: JT-301 or JT-310 CAPSTONE courses
