About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the scale-up of manufacturing across internal and external production sites
  • Account for manufacturing capacity, delivery, and cost
  • Deliver manufacturing ramp-ups and margin expansion for strategic products
  • Design and standardize production requirements, facility layouts, and material flows across production sites
  • Own manufacturing footprint strategy, including make-vs-buy decisions, new facility investments, and insourcing business cases
  • Lead integration of new operations
  • Develop and maintain technical production standards for manufacturing requirements, product introduction, process design changes, and capacity models
  • Characterize capacity, standardize requirements, assess bottlenecks, balance production lines, and streamline material flows
  • Establish and lead structured continuous improvement programs
  • Develop business cases and lead deployment of automation, digital, and AI technologies
  • Build, lead, and develop a team performing time-and-motion studies, value-stream mapping, capacity modeling, waste identification, and process improvements
  • Drive change management from the front line to senior leadership
  • Report to the Vice President of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant progressive experience
  • Track record of delivering operational and financial impact in Aerospace & Defense or similar complex manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading capacity modeling and simulation, value stream mapping, time-and-motion studies, and standard work
  • Experience with business case development for capital, make-vs-buy, or footprint decisions
  • Familiarity with lean, six sigma, and operational leadership development programs
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build trust quickly with front-line craftspeople and senior executives
  • Comfort with creating structure from ambiguity and moving quickly with imperfect data
  • Willingness/ability to travel 51–75% as required by the role
