About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Support 3D printing/additive manufacturing workflows, including part preparation, fabrication, and post-processing
  • Contribute to prototype development, testing, and validation activities
  • Participate in UAS-related mechanical design tasks, modifications, and system integration efforts
  • Generate engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and test reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on research, rapid prototyping, and production efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 40% and 60% of the required credits completed (Level 3 Intern)
  • Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed (Level 4 Intern)
  • Experience or familiarity with SolidWorks, 3D printing, and/or UAS systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Must be able to work onsite at a facility located in Crane, IN
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for access to government facilities
  • Ability to obtain a secret level security clearance
  • Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment
