About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide program analyst expertise to assist the government Program Manager in ensuring successful design and delivery of the three-variant F-35 aircraft
- Coordinate reliability, maintainability, and supportability requirements affecting vehicle design
- Mediate interactions between industry and government agencies on technology disclosure matters
- Perform airframe program management tasks supporting government personnel in managing OEM cost, schedule, and performance
- Support F-35 JPO business processes for evaluating OEM performance and future requirements
- Analyze options for meeting future requirements and support OEM program execution
- Participate in Cost Benefit Analysis and Affordability Initiative reviews
- Evaluate maintenance, repair, and overhaul acquisition logistics support options
- Evaluate supportability Technology Insertion Initiatives for integration with DoD infrastructure and systems
- Evaluate Support Equipment and Automated Test Equipment requirements for compliance with future DoD Automated Test Systems initiatives
- Train JSFPO members on acquisition-process methods and procedures
- Integrate cost, schedule, and performance data to maintain program health, identify risks, and support decision-making
- Represent the Airframe IPT at planning meetings and Program Management Reviews
- Collaborate with government and subcontract stakeholders on shared projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in DOD Federal service as military or civilian in program management or acquisitions, preferably with time in the F-35 JSFPO
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain Secret/SAP access
- Knowledge of DoD practices, internal controls, or audit requirements
- Ability to document processes, develop policy materials, and support compliance-focused initiatives
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and process tracking tools
- Effective communication skills for briefing, coordination, and collaboration with government stakeholders
- Program Management Analyst IV: 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors; 8 years with Masters; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
- Program Management Analyst V: 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors; 13+ years with Masters; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation quality
- Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to identify gaps and propose actionable solutions
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, audit-driven environment
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience in DOD Federal service
- Preferred: Active Secret clearance or higher
- Preferred: Background developing SOPs, manuals, internal controls, or enterprise process documentation
- Preferred: Experience in project management, Agile methodologies, or strategic planning
- Preferred: Familiarity with sustainment, maintenance, logistics, or readiness reporting
- Preferred: Experience supporting aviation sustainment or DoD logistics systems
- Ability to meet physical requirements for DoD facility and classified workspace access
