About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, configure, deploy, test, maintain, and upgrade operating systems and layered software packages for Microsoft Windows client workstations
  • Install, move, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals, and mission-specific hardware
  • Maintain desktop configurations according to CSCB and IT operational policies
  • Monitor and tune workstations; review system, security, and application logs daily and provide summary reports
  • Maintain physical security standards and escort non-NOC personnel accessing hosting environments
  • Apply IAVA/IAVM security patches and operating system updates within mandatory deadlines and perform post-patch testing
  • Perform security checklists, apply STIGs, and evaluate SCAP and ACAS scan results
  • Support RMF lifecycle tasks, certification and accreditation efforts, and policy adherence
  • Act as primary IT Customer Advocate for DEVCOM GVSC, handling walk-in, phone, and ticketing inquiries
  • Record incidents and requests, coordinate escalations, and drive tickets to validated closure
  • Analyze service-request patterns and log data, identify chronic problems, and develop root-cause solutions and lessons learned
  • Provide end-user guidance and technical instruction
  • Provide administrative and technical support for classified and unclassified conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and mobile collaboration assets
  • Review event requests and stage and test conferencing equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network protocol, and connectivity faults affecting VTC and multimedia systems
  • Author, maintain, and refine SOPs; submit documentation for review 48 hours before implementation
  • Document manual interventions and outages and perform formal root-cause analyses
  • Maintain software/hardware libraries and baseline configuration tracking, including ports, protocols, services, and changes
  • Produce weekly ticket status reports, monthly system architecture health metrics, SCCM/MECM data, and capacity management reports for the Government Performance Certifier

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
  • One to three years of hands-on experience in desktop support, system administration, and customer support within an enterprise Windows environment
  • Active Secret Clearance required at hire
  • Eligibility for DoW IT Level I access, subject to background investigation and DD Form 254 compliance
  • Active DoW 8140 Technical Support Specialist (Code 411) baseline certification, such as CompTIA A+ CE, CompTIA Network+ CE, or CompTIA Security+ CE; or BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering
  • Current equivalent Modern Desktop Administrator certification on Microsoft Windows 11 Platform
  • In-depth understanding of operating system internals, TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, GPOs, and system registry configurations
  • Working knowledge of DoW cybersecurity policies, vulnerability mitigation workflows, and STIG implementation techniques
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for non-technical users and deliver professional briefings
  • Ability to independently evaluate emerging IT products, functional software, and hardware tools against Army acquisition and logistics constraints
  • Working familiarity with ITIL v3/v4 frameworks and ISO quality standards
  • Hands-on experience with IT Service Management, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Prior experience supporting Army Computer Systems
  • Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline
  • Required work during normal operating hours of 0700 to 1700, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays
