About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Train as a CMS CJADC2 Planner within HII Mission Technologies
  • Report to a designated HII Supervisor
  • Gain hands-on experience in operational planning, IAMD, and JADC2
  • Apply Joint Planning Process (JPP) and Joint Military Decision-Making Process (JMDMP)
  • Develop OPLANs, EXORDs, CONPLANs, OPORDs, appendices, and compliance-ready documentation
  • Analyze and integrate IAMD capabilities into operational planning
  • Provide operational input for Joint Lessons Learned databases
  • Identify and integrate JADC2 systems into U.S. Component Air Operations Center operations
  • Advise commanders on joint/allied air, space, and missile defense, including C2 datalink architectures
  • Assess PMESII factors influencing military strategy and operational execution
  • Translate regional strategies into operational and crisis action planning
  • Participate in operational planning teams, exercises, crisis simulations, and AOC workflow integration
  • Perform JLL data entry, analysis, gap identification, and capability gap briefings
  • Support joint exercise design, scenario planning, non-organic sensor integration, and Sensor Visibility Project processes
  • Coordinate with A6/A3/ACOMS/A5M and support mission engineering
  • Complete daily mentorship, hands-on practice, progress reviews, documented lessons learned, and a final executive brief
  • Facilitate base networking and introduce HII Mission Technologies programs and projects
  • Train behind the scenes and not represent HII to DoD or government customers during the SkillBridge internship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service
  • Applications accepted from transitioning military personnel within final 12 months of active-duty service
  • 6 years relevant experience with BA or 10 years with HS diploma
  • Strong operational/tactical C2 background including TDL planning
  • Deep understanding of JADC2 and IAMD systems
  • Experience in USAFE or other COCOMs
  • Recent JICO/RICC/AJOC experience within 5 years
  • AOC/JICC experience
  • Completion of JT‑201 or JT‑220
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Physical requirements depend on the Program of Instruction
  • Availability during core hours for critical meetings and training
  • Preferred: JT‑301 or JT‑310 (CAPSTONE courses)
