Key responsibilities & impact

Administer, maintain, and secure the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network infrastructure
Support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation services using Linux-based systems and VMware virtualization platforms
Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to deploy, monitor, and maintain Linux servers, virtual machines, and workstation images
Ensure optimal performance and availability of multi-user Linux and VMware environments
Manage VMware infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, resource allocation, and virtual machine optimization
Perform Linux server administration, including account and permission management, configuration management, system tuning, and log analysis
Maintain system documentation and configuration baselines
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements
Evaluate and integrate hardware and software technologies
Coordinate installation efforts
Support system backup and recovery processes
Develop, implement, and enforce policies and standards for system resource management and operational readiness

What you’ll need

15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 13 years with a Master’s; or 19 years relevant experience with a High School diploma/equivalent
Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter management
Familiarity with VDI technologies and associated protocols
Strong Linux troubleshooting, scripting, and system diagnostics skills
Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply enterprise configuration standards
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification
Must hold and maintain an active Secret security clearance
Preferred: Experience administering RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9) desktop and server environments
Preferred: Experience with enterprise patching solutions and applying Linux STIGs
Preferred: Familiarity with Windows systems in mixed environment enterprises
Preferred: Experience with Ansible, Bash scripting, or other Linux automation frameworks
Preferred: Experience integrating DoD STIGs, security baselines, and configuration controls in Linux and virtualized environments
Preferred: Proven ability to balance customer support needs with technical priorities
Minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment may be required
