About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support New Construction CVN Material History tasking and Planned Maintenance System tasking and analysis
- Work from developed procedures and guidelines
- Perform ship checks to capture nameplate data and information for Shipyard Automated Material History Card Data (AMHCD) development
- Use photography or approved methods to capture nameplate data from reports and ship visits
- Perform Derivative Classification and transcribe photographic data into Excel spreadsheets to maintain and update AMHCD records
- Review field support requirements and recommend tools and test equipment
- Establish calibration requirements for field systems and equipment, including maintenance tasks
- Assist in developing maintenance engineering and logistics support products, including FMEA and LORA
- Perform RCM Level I and Level II analysis of systems or equipment
- Engage US Navy and shipyard customers in meetings and discussions regarding work, coordination, and issues
- Identify potential project-level schedule or technical risks
- Assist with plans and schedule reviews to prioritize PMS project activities, including Equipment Maintenance Page and Maintenance Requirements Card authoring and revision
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master’s in a related field; 0 years’ experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
- Familiarity with Navy organizational structure and marine equipment maintenance terminology
- Experience with US Navy Planned Maintenance System practices and procedures in a shipboard environment, from Work Center Level to Division Level
- Experience utilizing PMS Scheduler (SKED), equipment validations, and Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP) entries and reviews
- Engineering systems experience including propulsion, steam, diesel, electrical, seawater, freshwater, hydraulic, valves, pumps, compressors, atmosphere control, steering, ventilation, air, and ballast control systems
- Experience reviewing Technical Work Documents (TWDs) for accuracy and completeness
- Experience reading and interpreting technical data, including blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, technical manuals, and process instructions
- Experience complying with Quality Management Systems, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and project Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms)
- Working knowledge of Naval Standard Items, Naval Ships Technical Manuals (NSTMs), and Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base and ship access and obtain a CONFIDENTIAL Clearance
- Certify RCM Level I and II within 180 days, if not already certified
- Must be able to work in a shipboard environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment
- Preferred: RCM Level I and II Certification and PMS Management Information System (PMSMIS) experience
- Preferred: Propulsion/Auxiliary Plant Operator/Engineering Officer Of the Watch (EOOW) and Journeyman qualifications
- Preferred: Ship overhauls and shipyard environment experience
- Preferred: Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics, bills of material, and Navy parts lists, and organize large volumes of technical source data
- Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Excel, Access, and SharePoint experience
